Siam Tulip is a popular name for this flower, however it is not really a tulip at all. It's botanical name is Curcuma Alismatifolia and it comes from northern Thailand. It's a great flower to grow in South Florida as it can withstand the hot summers. In the fall the leaves die off but if you leave well enough alone they will sprout and flower again the next year.
