The Water Never Freezes Here

This is Eklutna Tail Race. This is a unique fishery 25 miles north of Anchorage, it is a small artificial eddy of water that comes down from a power plant and connects to the main stem Knik River. The glacial fed water with very little current, it never freezes as it?s warmed by the power plant, it?s a popular fishing spot for king and silver salmon. I was out hiking with my dogs and captured this as the sun was setting. I like the mist above the water from the warm meeting the cold winter air.
