The details and textures are very nice. The bright colors capture the eye well and the muted background is a great final touch. well done

Great image.
It does look like a sombrero a wee bit.
The color, perspective and focus is fabulous in this shot.
I also like the purple sneaking through the yellow.
Very cool!
Too me it looks like a dancer with their right arm slightly lifted.
Nice job!

Some people say a 10 gallon hat but technically it's AKA name is 'Mexican Hat' Trajan.... I also see the dancer (but then I see little dancers in many of my flowers lol) Do appreciate you checking out my new piece and thank you for such a lovely review of it.

Not sure how you relate your nice flower shot to a Mexican hat? Your photo benefits from having a good composition, it's sharp and is well exposed. Nicely taken!

What a fascinating narrative about this incredibly diverse and useful plant/flower, one I've never seen or heard of before that grows in your magical garden full of all the world's cures and curiosities! A fantastic shot also capturing the plant from a great POV, showing it's weird burnt corn cob head sticking out of a banana peel (in fact I suspect you've just made this up because you're running out of stuff to photograph ;)) with great clarity and in lovely lighting. The detail and structure of the plant is fascinating, with the green leaves and blurred background creating good contrast and accentuating your homemade banana peel and burnt corn statue further - and is that a bee I see peeping round the corner of the head of the plant? lovely shot and overall fascinating piece, great work Deb! Every day's a school day!! :)

ahahahah Oh Ed you have not seen even half of what I grow in my magical gardens yet! So very pleased you enjoyed the notes....I'm afraid they were a bit long-winded today but it's just an amazing little blossom w/ a lot to say for itself...lol And YES it is a bee! Good eye- you have been the very first to notice it. Do love your idea re: some old banana peels w/ a corn cob statue at it's center...lol if I ever run out of things to photograph that is. Thank you as always Ed for such a marvelous review....and for having a REALLY good look. I so appreciate it.

Great notes as always. My weekly horticulture lesson :). Absolutely beautiful color and detail. The elegance of every petal and every twist of them stands out all crowned by the hat. Framed and cropped just right. A sunny light for a gloomy Florida day.

My pleasure. Power still on. Storm has weakened which will help a bit. Worse of it for us after midnight.
Comment from Linda Wetzel
I love the textures captured in this photo. The delicate details of the petals contrast nicely with the rougher texture of the seeds on the cone. I like the way the blue tones in the background are captured in the reflected light on the leaves under the flower.
