The snow and the background definitely say winter. The bird's ruby throat adds a pleasing brightness to the grayness of the day. The rendering of of the feather is very realistic. This is a very nice entry in this contest.

Well thank you my friend, it's my first attempt at painting a bird and took me about 14 hours , certainly enjoyed painting him and looking forward to transferring him into greeting cards for xmas and perhaps a cushion too thanks again

Excellent introduction to your oil painting of the Robin Redbreast. You have conveyed the freezing cold winter to the viewer ! Well Done . The muted background brings your subject out . I wish I had a six to award you . Keep painting and good luck !

Neil,
A beautiful painting of the REAL Robin on a winters day guarding it's territory & brightening the life of any of us who are privileged to see it. knowing one day day we may be lucky enough to have one eat out of your hand! Created with very skilful brush work & the gift to be able to convey what you see onto your canvas. Beautiful choice blending & application of your colours in bringing the Robin to life.

A nice painting of this bird. I first thought it was a photograph. You have a nice description of it. It is a typical winter scene with the dark dreary background.

This is a beautiful painting with a lot of striking detail and gorgeous use of color. The beautiful bird really looks great with the nice patch of red color and the snow on the branches is,so realistic. Very nice piece of art. Very well done.
