Hello,
Good lines, extreme talent shown in attention to detail (her body --especially legs and feet and her dress), her hair is very realistic.
Good luck in the contest!

Thank you very much for your six star vote and comments.

You are a true artist to have such a superb outcome with so many firsts. The fabric has a fluid flow to it and a delicate sheer texture. I think the color combinations and the work on the background are very attractive. You have applied the light and shadows masterfully.

Thank you for your six star vote and your comments. And thank you for comment about so many firsts. A few times I sweated bullets making my hand and eye achieve what I saw in my mind.

Very nice. The colors work well the pose is solid and flows the feet are well done, the hand is a hard one to do. And having the dress a bit see through is done well

Thank you for your five vote and comments. I spent about twice as long on the hand than the face.

I recognize so much your urge to do something different even if it is a challenge, and with the long list of things you have never tried before, I think you have done extremely well. I especially like the limited color pallet in shades of pink and purple, and also how nicely you have introduced the light into this painting. First of all because you did not forget the shadow from the dancer, but also the very good use of high lights.

It is also easy to see that you have paid very good attention to details, and especially the hand and feet are really well done. You have also brought out the fine textures in the outfit.

Most of all you have managed to give the painting the feel of motion and grace in the dancer. The format and the framing is perfect and the dancer has got a very good placement on the canvas.

A truly beautiful and well done painting, and I wish you luck with the contest.

Great contest entry and possible winner. Love the stunning pose of the woman in purple. The look on her face and the detail are excellent. Love the flow of her skirt as she is dancing across the canvas. Nice work.

Thank you for your five vote and comments. I like how you stated "as she is dancing across the canvas". I really wanted to relay that somehow in this painting. It is pleasing that someone saw it.

Woot! Nicely done on this!
It has the look of a Bottacelli actually.
You have done very well here with the shading, composition and tonal values!
Brava!

Well the hard work, time put in and methodical (to a degree) process you describe really has paid off in this fantastic, really sharp and colourful painting. The shades of purple throughout are superb and well thought out, as are the brilliantly life like colourings and features of her body - the form is spot on and proportions perfect, and her posture life like and graceful as she dances. Her facial features are in great proportion and very life like too, showing an expression of concentration in her movements sublimely. An excellent work of art and best of luck in the competition! :)

Thank you for your five vote and comments. Your critique truly catches my major concerns producing this painting.

Hi Anon

This is a delight to view no doubt and your detailed description of the painstaking process you went through only heightens the drama in this image. It's as though you have transcribed your efforts into the effort of the dancer to hold this pose on the tips of her straining toes. Excellent. There is a lot of energy in this one both from the dancer and you :) Good luck! R

Thank you for your five vote and your comments. I was worried about capturing that energy of movement throughout the painting process.
