Such a warm and touching moment! Love the burning fire in the background. The ruin and devistation is apparent in this shot yet you portray hope and love after all is said and done! Well done!

Great story telling ability it says it all when you only have to look at a picture for it to say everything. A tender scene of the soldier taking a moment from the
Job to seek some comfort and show some love to the two dogs, this scene set against the burning buildings is very powerful and emotional but that is what art is about making you feel something and this certainly does. The subdued colour palette and low light add to the intensity . I am not an artist but this really does grab you. Thanks for sharing something special.

Moonwillow, animals of all sizes and shapes are very close to my heart always. I find your piece here really resonates with me. Your art has touched me because we can see the tenderness of this soldier (and I put myself in her shoes)....and how the animals need that reassurance that they have not been forgotten.

The war, smoke, and hell around these animals must terrify them to no end (I often think of the animals in zoos).

These two dogs need to have love and shown a tenderness and you have managed to recreate that feel.

Thank you for your steady stream of top notch digital art presentation.

A very touching scene that tugs at the heart. So well rendered that I thought it was a photograph with superb DOF. The attention to detail with so many diverse objects and lighting challenges is amazing. Superb!

Having done four tours in Afghanistan I can relate to this. It was always the dogs and the kids that helped us to keep our sanity when things got crazy. Well done Shawn ~ Steve
