This is just enchanting. Great choice of dress and ribbon it works so well. I have just started drawing portraits and with the hours spent trying to get emotion into a single eye - well you have really captured the emotion and character here. The lighting really works. What a wonderful submission. I hope your grand daughter also loved it.

Linda she is beautiful looking like that into the light and the composition works. My only comment is that her right eye looks like there is a film over it it is not clear, can you see that too? As humans we always gravitate to the eyes because they are the entry points to the soul and here you have obscured one eye.

Hmm. I must look at that more closely. Sometimes we can't see the forest for the trees. I worked so hard, and for so many hours on this portrait to get it just right. I must have missed it.

Thank you Steve. I understand that the right eye is milky. I am glad that you saw beyond that. Thank yo for your wonderful review. The 6 stars is always coveted, and desired, and you gave me one or yours.

Wow! Your choice of graphite on paper work wonderfully here. You have captured here outer and inner beauty and the very essence of your beautiful granddaughter, which I am sure you have created with love. So beautiful how you created the face and those gorgeous eyes to the perfect cheek bones. Your shading and blending of colors with graphite are incredible. You have brought your granddaughter to life with this extraordinaire portrait and I am sure this will be treasured by her forever. Worthy of a six star!

A super duper realistic portrait drawing of a child! The accuracy of the features and the dress the girl is wearing and the light and shadow work is great. Good luck in the contest!
