50% in Feb is fine Peglegdeb. What a fabulous photo Deborah.. Those stately tall trees with the covering of snow look so gallant standing there like a forest protecting your wood collection. Now that's a whole lot of chopping gone on .. The wood shed provides real character to your photo. Brings it to life and allows me ponder further as I view the scene. The slight lean on the poles give it an earthy look and make it really blend nicely into the forest behind. That covering of snow on its roof provided a lovely contrast between the shed and the trees surrounding it. Such a beautiful place to dwell Deb.. I can almost imagine you up the ladder shoveling snow.. The hint of green remaining on the trees gives a nice touch of colour to the photo and a feeling of warmth.. The angle of the photo gives excellent depth of view as I peer into the background of a more brownish tone of distant trees.. Thanks for sharing this delightful photo and I really love the story that accompanies it. a real joy to review . cheers mel

Just happy to see you didn't think I'd 'mixed media' the wood shed into this one gg. Thank you for the fine review. Do appreciate it.

50% Wood.....A wonderful title and storytelling with your image. I so enjoyed reading your artists notes and quips for what Vermonters are saying. Your vertical framing works well. A beautiful sight to behold with the snow and all that wonderful firewood with it's richness in color against the evergreen trees. Indeed a well taken photo with a good depth of field. This is very nice work and thanks for sharing.

This is another beautiful winter scene at your place and you have really captured the majestic height in the trees.
Incredible to see just how tall everything is. We have that saying here too, about the
Corn anyway, but that is sure a
Lot of firewood! Hope you didn't gather it all by yourself,
Because if you did, my hats off to you! Stay warm and thanks for sharing this along with a lovely detailed narrative.

LOL...oh I don't 'gather' it Marsha. But I do chop some of it and my wood guy brings the rest and dumps it out front then I lug it all up to wood shed. Fire wood is a lot of work. There's a quip for that too. "Fire wood warms you three times....once when you cut it, twice when you stack it and three times when you burn it" lol ALL TRUE! Do appreciate the lovely review you've given my new piece. Thank you so much. Have not felt so hot lately and have fallen behind w/ my reviews but I know there are a couple of your pieces I want to go back to. Promise to check them out soon.

Friend of mine says there is no better feeling than having your hey put up. That's the farmers in Ohio. Love your image and I really like what it represents. Good focus and everything perfect. Well done.

You must burn wood through March and into April. By then you will start to have your flowers to keep you warm. I only know of one person who relies on burning wood for heat aside from you. A very nice shot that shows what it is like to live such a rustic life.

Oh into May MM..early May...at least in the evening. The wood heating season is dreadfully long and I really start to feel it by this time of the winter. Spring...and my flowers can not come soon enough. It is usually Feb that I question my 'rustic' lifestyle. By March I can almost smell spring...lol so a few more weeks and I should be feeling better. Thanks so much for giving this piece such a nice review. I do appreciate it. And congratulations on your wonderful red bird winning that contest. It definitely got my vote and I was glad to find it had won the other day.

Thanks for sharing those witty one-liner quips!
Who chopped those woods for you?

Interesting slice of life--just like here...but fantabulous image with your snow capped structures...

Overcast sky adds drama to this composition...

An artistic rendition. Monochromatic colors. Excellent details & features. Impressive setting & textures. Thanks for sharing...

I have one guy who brings logs...part of which I chop myself and another guy who brings it to me chopped...I do all the stacking myself. I think you meant it was interesting like your way of life?? Certainly not the same though?? I know YOU don't burn wood to keep warm...lol Thanks so much for the very nice review Dick. Do appreciate it.

Winter is so long here Nik and so cold and as I heat w/ only wood just about the entire year is spent either getting wood, stacking wood, hauling it to the house or burning it....lol At this point of the winter I am always way more than ready for spring to come. Do appreciate your very nice review. Thank you so much.
