Best time of the day for wildlife, captured the mood with the wonderful mist cropped to its best advantage, excellent natural colors and the close up birds give it that DOF.Thanks for sharing.

Awesome capture here and very visually provoking. I don't know how much is mixed media and how much is natural, but the minimal, monotone but wonderfully and artistically composed piece overall, with subtle colour undertones and wonderful shades of silvery grey, through the well balanced lighting before hitting the subtle but prominent yellow and gold clouds in the wonderful skyline. A beautiful piece, great work :)

Thank you so very much El-mundo for your lovely review and thoughts, always appreciate your reviews and opinion.
I did (2) different adjustment to this shot.....and I ended up liking both the other one had more yellows and blues and I lightened up the part with the birds taking out more of the fog. But I ended up using more of the colors the camera captured that morning....and not much mixed media. Sometimes it's tough getting up so early for sunrise.....but always so worthy it when you see those colors in the sky that nature provides. Thanks so much for your thoughts on this shot! Mary Lynn

You of course now having me planning a trip to Daytona! Been there a few times but never at this time of day. There is such wonderful solace in your capture. Easy, engaging and oh so very calm. Wonderful color and lighting for the time of day. I love it when I get these wonderful breaths of calm and fresh air when I see an image. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you so very much Debi.....have a great trip to Daytona! There is also a State Park not far from the Ponce De Leon Inlet Lighthouse maybe a block away....... beautiful area on the water and you can walk out to the jetty. Have a good time!

You have found yourself one beautiful photo of predawn.

The sun peaking out in the corner is just lovely.

Great job getting all those birds to stay put and not flying off.

Great job, thanks for sharing.

That would be lovely too. You're welcome, I love a great sun rise or set.

What a beautiful capture stringbean! The softness of the sky and water soaked beach gives your work an ethereal feel that is very comforting and peaceful. The peep of the sunlit clouds give a nice turn to your piece.

I love the colours you have in this lovely scene with the early morning sun beginning to light up the lilac-tinged sky, all the birds congregating to feed. Very good lighting and focus. Lovely composition. Very tranquil. Suzanne

It is an artistic rendering thanks to the varying hues of colour you saw. Yes to your horizontal cut decision and your sky is clean of sensor dust. Sharp, clear, full of mood. Do you think you could have ended up with an image like this shooting in JPEG?

Thanks so much very much Olga for the kind and generous review. I'm so glad that you liked it. Maybe all the differences are subtle.....but shooting in raw gives you better levels of brightness, smoother transition of tones and better details. What's your opinion on the raw file?

I have been struggling with RAW vs. JPEG for years. I shoot JPEG but still struggle with the thought.

I did this photo in two different versions - this one using colors straight out of the camera and the other spent an hour in light room adding more blues and yellows and really working the canvas but then decided on the other. Yes I went back to jpeg and then back to raw.....but for these long landscapes I think it helps. Thanks for your thoughts! Mary Lynn

You were 3 hours 20 mins North of where I live.
Beautiful early morning Capture! Love the soft colors in the sky, the soft lavender like glow, the birds scattered about at low tide and the predawn dreamy look this offers.
Beautiful capture Mary Lynn!!!

Weather has been fantastic since October.
A tad too cold in December where I had frost on Windows. It was 39 inside my home a few weeks.
I have cathedral ceilings. No heat. So had to plug in the blankets and throws. Wear skull cap..
Lol.. After Irma.. I have zero complaints.
Out every weekend With Horses and wildlife.
Glad you got a taste of what we have down here.

It's not bad in the winter .....but your right I do remember Daytona Beach when I was much younger during Spring Breaks....so crowded. Also the Daytona 500 is soon bringing in crowds of people.

I think the lavender tones of the fog and sand in the light look so nice. The shine on the water is also lovely. I can't believe how many gulls are packed together out there! It's a great view with a peaceful tone (since we can't hear the birds!) and attractive colors.
