Gorgeous work Eileen! The pose and thoughtful expression on his face are wonderful. I like how well lit his facial features are and the nice amount of rich texture throughout the image.

It's an excellent pose of Barney blowing air in his mouth. He was a shy but very coy boy.
Your focus and white balance are spot on showing fine details and nice separation from the wall he was leaning on.
I would however suggest you run this through Topaz lens effects UV filter to tone done the brightness.
Nice shot of Sweet Barney Shadow.

Eileen this is a wonderful capture of barney the lowland gorilla, I especially like the silver grey tones in this image, the light on his face is beautiful to capture all the detail and barneys
reflective mood, sharp focus and clarity, I like the framing as I feel it draws to the face, a very well executed photograph with great camera techs. a pleasure to view this.

Incredible expression captured in the face of this beautiful ape.
He does look like he is pondering or contemplating something. So human like is his view. This capture has excellent detail and really shows emotion in this beautiful animal.
Wonderful work!

Perfect title Eileen!!

....and good notes too. Really nice crisp focus...and good job w/ color considering the background you've done a fine job separating Barney from it. Wonderful clarity....the detail especially in that gorgeous face and head is just outstanding. I like the vertical format as well.

Really well presented piece Eileen.

lovely portrait capture of this old Gorilla, looking calm and peaceful, and as the name suggests, deep in thought. A great monochromatic piece with great clarity and detail, captured in good lighting and cropped neatly, showing real emotion and expression in the look on the face and the contemplation in it. Such complex and wonderful creatures, and scarily close relatives to ourselves as well - something so many people take for granted but something we must take more seriously to accept and treat their emotions accordingly. Lovely capture, well done :)

A very nice perspective that shows his face quite clearly. His expression is excellent and I like the composition but think I would darken it quite a bit.
