A very nice picture of this European Robin Susan. So different than the red breasted Robins we have in the U.S. The photo is crisp and sharp showing many details in the fathers. The colors are well done an natural. Good work here Susan ~ Steve

    Steve,
Thanks a million for your great review on this semi tame Robin in my garden.
They did try to introduce them to the USA but sadly failed. So the Pilgrim Fathers on seeing a red breasted bird, though larger & a Thrush called it a Robin. The european Robin is a Flycatcher.

Great capture, Susan, showing this pretty little Robin perched on the twig, eyeing you warily. I like all the patterns made by the twigs and branches. Very good lighting and focus showing great detail in his lovely markings. Lovely composition. Suzanne

    Suzanne,
Thanks a million for your great review. It's great when I can get pictures of them without the glass between us...it happens seldom but when it does it sends a tingle down my spine.

Love the way you titled this one Susan....lol

Really wonderful crisp focus on your little Robin....so nicely detailed! Your colors are natural and well presented. I also like the natural setting.

Nicely put together image! I am still anxiously awaiting the return of the Robins at my place. As it snowed again (not a lot but ENOUGH) it may be awhile still.

A beautiful capture of the European Robin. The eyes really draw you in since they are so sharp. A good perspective and well composed shot. Very well photographed with good details in your image with nice color and contrast. Your diffused background compliments your photography nicely. Good artists notes and storytelling with your image. This is very nice work and thanks for sharing!

Very nice photo of this European Robin! It's interesting to see that they look a bit different from the American Robins we have here. Lovely color and light with a nice catch light in the eye.

    Barbara,
Thanks a million for your review on this little European Robin ~Erithacus rubecula which is an old world Flycatcher.

The American Robin ~Turdus Migratious is closely related to our Blackbird ~Turdus merula both members of the Thrush (Turdus) Family. The Pilgrim Fathers were unable to bring the Robin from England, when they went over to America but on seeing a bird with a red breast though much larger than the one they had left behind, called it a ROBIN.

Thank you for the interesting information about the American Robin!

You did a fine job of capturing the various blending of colors in this little fellows feathers. The blue gray of his side and that signature red breast give a nice touch of color to the bush in its drab winter sparseness.
