adrianart: Hi All!!

I have been asked by a few of you for my techniques regarding the reflections and droplet images I.E. The Union Jack and the Tomato Madness shots so here it is, have fun with it and please let me know how you get on.

Adrian.

THE TECHNIQUE!

Place your subject on some black card ( or any other colour ), then get a pane of clear glass and cleaned it.

Placed the glass above the card about 2 feet or so above but this can be any height really ( I used two columns of books for mine ) but it does have to be high enough for the subject to be out of focus, the higher it is the more detail in the reflections.

I then used a eye dropper filled with water and placed the droplets on the surface of the pane of glass at random and just focusing on the droplets and nothing else to get this results, you dont even need any special macro lenses of equipment.

Go on have a go yourselves!! You can use any subject material just use your imagination, You never know you might come up with your own ideas and techniques!

digitalscud: Very well done Adrian on all your achievements, and I can see what a talent you are by just looking at your wonderful photographs. If you have a spare minute or so, I would be pleased to see what you thought of my pictures, out of interest. I am from the Blackpool area and go to a local Photographic club at Poulton-le-Fylde, which is 100 members and is very good, as you can learn a lot by talking to and listening to more experienced members or experiencing the competitions and seeing the guest speakers that come along to the club. I must say your achievement at winning the Country file competition was just BRILLIANT, considering they have upto 50,000 entries. I have entered a couple of times, but was an 'also ran' as they say in the horse racing circles. Though my club that I go to did say you have to be careful when entering these comps run by the BBC or other television companies, as you loose the right of copyright to your photographs and they could sell them as they please, how do you feel about that Adrian and what is your thoughts about it? Hope you didn't mind me sending you a message. Continue your great work, Paul - digitalscud from Cleveleys.
