Plumbago is not a native of Yucatan but is widely grown as decorative plant. Surprisingly, the plant doesn't have the hardy apperance as it does in the northern hemisphere. Here in the tropics the plant looks fragile. The blossoms show a wide range of blue, some so light colored that the seam to be white and translucent under the tropical sun.
