With all the scrumptious colors of flowers available I rarely think to add a white one to my gardens but when I saw this PEONY called 'Flamboyant White' described as part of the Whopper Series I decided to use it as a 'spacer' of sorts between several deep rich burgundy varieties in my Peony Bed.....and a WHOPPER it is. The single blossom seen in this image is about the size of a soccer ball.

'Flamboyant White' almost appears to glow after the sun goes down so I went out w/ my flashlights a couple of nights ago to see if I could correctly capture the lovely 'glow' of the petals which often remind me of crisp, clean white cotton sheets.

Steve (iPhone7) has always seem fascinated by my rather low-tech method of night-time flower photography and has made some great jokes about me standing in front of my flowers...camera in hand and flashlight between my knees.....lol... so this one's for him b/c that is EXACTLY what I do.

Post Type: Photography
