for Padre on Father's Day

....'Pumpkin' PETUNIAS

Padre and I often disagreed on the efficacy of using annuals (flowers that live only a single season) in our gardens. He did. I did not.

While my argument was why waste time, effort and space on a flower that would not come back the next season his was just the opposite. He insisted that considering the low cost and countless varieties of annuals available that it was economically feasible to fill in the empty areas around his beloved AZALEAS w/ colorful annuals......and his favorite annual was the PETUNIA...orange ones to be exact.

In memory of Padre, over the last several gardening seasons since his passing I have purposely purchased an entire flat of orange PETUNIAS and planted them around his treasured AZALEAS which now reside in my gardens. I have to admit....they are really quite pretty. So on this Father's Day I post this lovely 'Pumpkin' variety just for him.
