Salvia guaranitica also known as Hummingbird Sage and Anise-scented Sage, is a perennial shrub native to South America. When unattended the plant will spread over large areas due to a spreading root system. The shrubs get 4-5 feet high [1.2 ? 1.5 m] and develop flower clusters of about 9.8 in [25 cm] length with blossoms in various shades of blue including the variant known as Black and Blue Salvia. The shrub is widely cultivated as ornamental plans for parks and gardens in mild temperate regions around the world. [Source of comments: WIKIPEDIA]
