visiting friends in Sofia, since passed away sadly, I spent a lot of time wandering round the city, and found some very interesting nooks and corners. At the base of this peace monument, which towered far up into the sky, there was a very colourful presentation by local teenagers of graffiti, which I must admit, I thought very interesting. Bulgaria had numerous of these communist built sculptures. Some quite amusing, naked ladies in the park etc It is a lovely country and did not need the sculptures to enhance it, but they were to make a point. Gorgeous forests, however a Greek millionaire was at that time going to buy them up to create holiday camps. I thought Greek was broke? Why isn't he putting his money to help his country rather than destroy the beauty of another one. I brought back posters with me, urging people to protest about the destruction of the forests, as my friend was a protester. /I read and write cyrillic-/
