This was done as a memory exercise. I would look at a sculpture and photograph intently for 15 minutes then make the artwork away from the examples trying to remember the important details. This or similar images were already a known subject just from knowing what we do from history and Egyptian finds. However I remembered mostly the stripes of the headdress and the kholh eyes in this instance. It took about 1 and a half hours and when finished I did a little few enhancements from copy. It is intended to bre contemporary impressionistic.
