This is a King Vulture which is the second largest type of vulture and the most colorful with their orange wattles and multi-colored skin of their necks. Condors are the largest vultures. Most vultures have eyelashes like a few other types of birds, but the King Vulture doesn't have eyelashes.
King Vultures have a 5 foot wingspan and seldom flap their wings. They rise on thermals (columns of rising air that are formed on the ground through the warming of the surface by the sun) and then glide for miles. So they basically ride the air currents without expending much energy. Hawks and Eagles often take advantage of thermals to extend their flight time.
