Wild Three-cornered Garlic ~ Allium triquetrum growing on the banks of the River Dodder. Flowering: February-May. Perennial bulb. Introduced. Garden escape. White bell-shaped flowers with green stripe. Downward-hanging in one-sided umbels. Basal leaves, bright-green, linear, keeled. Whole plant is garlic-scented. Erect 3-angled hollow stem. Bulbous rootstock. Flower stems: To 40cm. Woodland, grassy banks, waste ground, roadsides. Mainly S, E Ireland. Locally abundant in some coastal areas of Co.Cork. Garden escape.
