I love your lookalike tree. It is fascinating. The angle seems perfect. The roots seem to be grabbing at something to steal. It was perfect for my six-word story. Thank you for making it available to Fanstory.

Though I haven't written anything for a while I too am a member of Fan Story. I know how important it is to have just the right image to match what you've written. I'm honored you felt my image was a match. Thank you for the lovely review. :o) Helvi

Yes, I can see the octopus. Very clever entry for the contest. Right upper corner is a bit blown-out (over-exposed) but a relatively minor problem. The subject itself is strong.

Hi Anne, Thank you for the wonderful review. It's always fun to discover images like this SO glad you liked it!
Comment from outsideMAN
Its a great tree, no doubt about that, in a fine classical composition. Focus is good. For me though the shot is either just a bit overexposed or does not contain enough contrast because I feel that the tree looks to light. This can be fixed in software fairly easily.
Nice try! Good luck in your contest!

Excellent contest entry with awesome focus picking up the unusual growth of the root. Nice d.o.f. for definition and perfect natural colors! Nicely framed with a wonderful natural b.g. Beautiful capture! Best of luck in the contest! Uncanny resemblance to an octopus!!

Hi dejonga, I saw this tree on a trip to Concord Mass, at the Old North Bridge. I thought the roots of the beech tree there were pretty awesome. Love it when I find thngs like this. Thank you for the review. I'm glad you enjoyed the shot!

Hi Donkeyoatey, It always makes me happy when I know I'm not alone in seeing a look-a like. I'm glad you saw the octupus too. In this contest It wouldn't be much of an entry if I was alone in that thought. LOL Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for the wonderful review.
