Great capture. Wonderful focus and clarity. The contrast feels a little heavy lower in the photo but doesnt take away from it. Very nice job.

This is such a good shot, the fact that you were able to capture the bird with so much detail and with a seed in his mouth is really amazing.

just like a man taking the easy way out. Why go and catch your own when someone will hand it to him on a platter sorry feeder. A beautiful close photo that the reflections can be seen in his eye.

Nice shot! Clear focus allows the detailing of the plumage to be appreciated. High contrast head and seed in beak draw the eyes naturally to the center of attention. I really enjoy the fine detailing seen on the tree-bark and throughout this image. That detail does not detract from the overall composition. I found your comment about the seed being "too easy" quite humorous because woodpeckers where I live regularly raid the suet cake. Lovely image!

Hi Willie,
Love that you caught this woodpecker with a seed in his mouth! I think that adds a lot to the picture. I can't believe the claws on him! You have fantastic lighting on him as well as DOF. Fantastic shot as well as a GREAT closeup! :o) Helvi

Nice photo! I am not sure what the poster edge filter does but the feather details are so sharp it almost looks like a painting instead of a photo. Great job!

When it comes to bird shots at this web site, you are the master. You have captured the woodpecker in a terrific pose. The seed in the beak adds an element of interest. The focus is sharp as always.
