Hi Envision thank you for sharing this stunning and brilliantly captured photo of the Potter wasp.. absolutely fantastic exposure and focus, giving me the perfect view of this interesting wasp in all its wonder.. An excellent angle used to really show off its intricate body segments in such clear detail. the antennae working hard there to extract the necessary goodies from the bloom upon which he or she is situated. interesting bands of white stipes adorning its body. striking in every way, and contrasting vividly against that black shiny body surface.. even the white stripe on the upper part of the rear legs is an interesting notation. The final segment of its body that extends from its rear section is the classic inclusion in this type of wasp.. loving the fine hairs that extend from its body .. fascinating. great balance achieved in your image with the wasp taking centre stage, as it does its work on the unassuming white bloom. love the background with the slightly muted green foliage framing the scene well. and the golden hue that completes the backdrop. a perfect choice to really make the wasp pop.. The wings have great clarity as it busies itself on the flower. Appreciate your notes accompanying the scene. Mud wasps find their way onto my verandah leaving their tell tale brown mud nests on the brickwork.. they seem to breed lots of babies at a time ... after all that hard effort in building the nest no doubt. thank you for sharing such a wonderfully constructed photo of this amazing wasp in action. such a pleasure to study it up close and personal.. cheers mel

Very nice shot of this interesting wasp with the teeny tiny waist! Very good macro shot with excellent natural colors, like the curve of it's body and those sleek elongated wings, nicely showcased In your vertical format. This is a very eye appealing shot taken at a great angle !

Wow! What a great capture of the Potter Wasp. Clarity and focus are excellent showing great detail. He looks positively menacing though, particularly with his tail curved inward. Great picture.

The composition of this potter wasp with it's back turned to the camera grabs and holds your attention while you study it further to see what is happening. The focus is sharp and there are plenty of details. Overall great shot.

This is very interesting indeed!!!! It looks like something in between a butterfly and a wasp. For me, the thing that I like most about it is it's long, thin wings. Very beautiful!!! Do Potter wasps have stingers. If yes, I can't see it!? I wish I had some more 6*s left for you. Great job my friend!!!!! Have a special day!

Thank you very much Lucas. I've read that only the females have stingers, but I guess the males can use the tip of their abdomens to produce a sting like pain without the venom.
