Hi Jodi, I've always loved the delicacy of Colombines .Those long spurs create a special look. You captured a very nice shot of these yellow Colombines showcasing the spurs. These flowers have a tendency to blend together a little but the shot is still lovely. I enjoyed! :o) Nancy

Hi Nancy, thanks for your review and your eagle eye! I didn’t realize that some of the petals blended in until you pointed it out. Appreciate the lesson!! :-)

I love columbine ! These grow wild here . Nice angle of shot to allow a good sense of the columbines special structure . I love them in the soft yellow!
Well focused, clear image with good exposure, the colors and tones appear natural.
Well composed allowing a good sense of their location with several blooms surrounding it.
Well presented! Best wishes to you in this contest!

Thank you so much Nieves! I appreciate your supportive comments on this photo and yes my dad does have a green thumb. He taught me how to plant flower seeds before I was five and I have such wonderful memories of gardening with him throughout the years!

This is a beautiful presentation of the Columbine flower. the Stamens in the center are in perfect focus however the petals on the outside don't seem quite as sharp. Good luck in the contest.
