great capture, this is a fascinating place- the painted lines seem so out of place in nature, but together it all blends well.
i looked through the rest of your portfolio, and i think the main thing that could use improvement is the use of negative space.
the images are cut so closely to the subject, there isn't much "breathing" room, not enough negative space to vary or shift focus.
in this image, if there was more information on either side of this house, (which i'm not quite sure was possible) there could be a greater comparison between the organic and nature and inorganic and geometry. there would be more nature to compare to, while keeping the house central.
just a thought- again, very unique and interesting shot.

The grey scale and framing are quite compelling in this shot. The highlighted 'mud' makes for interesting horizontal lines that draw the viewer across the cabin. Nicely framed and exposed.

I like the contrast of the black and white on the house, you have it positioned well in this photo, and framed well by the trees, great job, thank you for sharing,

Wow...girl, this is such an interesting photograph! I love that you converted it to black and white! The tonal contrasts from light to dark work brilliantly here. I am assuming this wonderfully historic cabin is being maintained, as it looks in great shape. I love the bare trees next to the cabin. One of them looks like it might be an old fruit tree of somekind, but I am probably wrong. You really did a great job with this photograph! I loved it. I enjoy seeing old places like this and imagining the lives of the people who built them and raised a family there.

Yes, it appears they are restoring this. Sure hope they open it to the public some day. I really love old places also! I keep saying I am going to do some research on this place but have yet to make the time. Thank you so much Teresa for this super review, I appreciate your time!

What a beautiful old log cabin. Love the use of black and white here for this. Your sky seems to be a little blown out, and the areas between the logs on the front of the building seem a little bright as well. Your composition is great. Focus and clarity is fantastic. Contrast and color is great as well. Keep on trying new things with your new camera. Try different settings during a shoot as well, to see what works best. Great job. -Nancy

This is an interesting photograph with lots of detail and superb texture. Focus is excellent. Composition is also very good indeed. I'm not too sure about monochrome treatment in this particular instance

Excellent tonal range, sharp focus, rich history, however the viewer needs more of the surrounding ambiance. This will add substantially to the sense of history and appreciation of those who lived in the cabin.. Regards: Nick
