A true wow job as this looks like a photograph , super technique in pastels which is not easy to get so perfectly in tones and lines - the elephant is outstanding in all his details - the shadow and light application is perfect , the face expression fantastic , his side view wonderful, the way he is taking his shower outstanding as it really looks like crystalline water, beautiful composition, handsome job

Elephant with soft pastel chalks.
Realistic highlights and shadows.
Impressive natural skin coloration.
Distinct lines and wrinkles...
The ear flaps are really relatively small.
Even the trunk is quite small compared to other species.

Makes a change to see an Indian elephant since those that are shown on FAR as usually African. As everyone knows Indian elephants have much smaller ears. Like the elephant in profile which I feel shows much more detail than a head on view. The water being swished around by the trunk is very well done and makes me smile too. Lighting is very good also with shadows on the body. Beautifull executed work and a pleasure to view.

your painting is very lifeike in appearance and the backdrop of the vibrant blue sky sets your subject up well to be the main centerpiece and can't forget his attempting to wash himself with the droplets of water coming from the trunk..lifelike also. nice painting

This is a very elegant piece. Very well composed. The colors work well together to create your scene, and they work particularly well on that blue background.
Good contrast; the shadow really helps to make the elephants profile stand out. And the elephant himself stands out well against that blue background. Very clean. Good tonal balance as well. I would suggest using a little more highlights on future works, but this one is fine. Don't change anything on it.
You have quite the talent, and it should be noted that pastels are a very difficult medium to boot. Keep posting, I enjoy seeing your work!
