What as lovely photo, I like that every thing except the Lilly bud is in black and white, I love the reflection in the water. How do you gain that effect, I have seen it a couple of times, and I like it .

Thank you so very much! Bob had the book, Stacy got me started but I had to have better instructions so I asked Google and found the answer.

What have you done? It looks like you have made the leafs black, You have a white dot on the back leaf that is a distraction. Good focus and framing.

Thank you so very much! The leaves are dark green and the water is a dark color too so when changed to b&w it made it look that way. Thanks for pointing out the white spot!

This is a wonderful shot with lovely effect to single out the water lilly bud by convertring rest; the leaves and water in shades of gray. Reflection in water of the bud is lovely. You have suitably framed the flower and the photograph has good focus with appropriate amount of light. Well done. Murad

Nice contest entry. Lilys have become my clay lately as well, tis' the season. I really like the BW, does offset the light yellow-green hues. I like that the bud is a little off center as to not crop the pad to its right.
