Very fascinating notes, thank you for sharing that, it gives credence and meaning to this very lovely artwork. It's funny I have never been afraid or spooked by spiders not even the big ones that often come inside. So many men have arcana phobia , now I can see why especially for the Japanese, entrapment no less!
What you have depicted in this piece is a wonderful visual interpretation of Aranche's magic and the more I look , the more I applaud you for your cleverness of application, design and concept. Great piece, good luck for the contest!

Very apt for the contest. It is very well done, but I would have liked it more without the bugs just for it fantasy factor.

Thank you very much for your kind review. The picture is not possible without the bugs[spiders]. Aranche is a spider woman from Greek Mythology. The small spiders are her children. The theme for the contest is Spiders.

Tp put her in the center of a flower like this was a bit of genius on your part! I only wish I had not used all my sixes already!
