Congratulations. No wonder you won with this splendid photo. If you were patient enough I am sure you could count the feathers. The red beak is really standing out, and the seed it is holding adds interest. Focus is pin sharp and the colors are lovely. Really like the tight cropping.

Willie, I feel like a broken record when I review your work, but it's always true: your images are well-focused, with rich, natural color, great framing and angles, nice catchlights, outstanding details, never boring in their treatment of the subject. You do know how to capture animals so well!

Thank you so very much! I always shoot the eye. I refocus on the eye every click of the shutter. Without the eye nothing will be good. Sometimes I may shoot Twenty shots to get one good, providing the bird stays that long.

That is the life and times of a photographer The ratio use to be 1 in 100 or so and now with digital I think you arte correct 1 in say 20 good work and thank you for sharing.
