Very pretty picture which has a mystical and whimsical appearance in my view. Movement in the skirt is excellent, as are the colours which are soft and very pleasing on my eyes. What I particularly like about the dancer though is her face. Very pretty with skin that looks like porcelain. I also love the sparkling effect you have which is showing up on the photograph which surprises and delights me. Hardly notice the spiders but they are in keeping with the theme of the contest. Thank you very much for your kind review and the good luck wishes. The sparkling effect is archived by the glitter from the silver tube with which the spider web is painted. Aranche [the dancer] is a spider woman from Greek mythology who was killed by Athena and resurrected as a spider. She is waving the net with her hands. The small spiders are her children.

Really a nice work.
It has lots of depth and a lot of good detail. I can't say I completely understand
the work, but I think it is very beautiful, delicate, a good play of lighting and intricate work.

Very pretty image and interesting notes. I hate spiders but you've made them nice here. I love how she's spinning, the lovely pinks and blues; you can see the movement. Very nice piece of art. Good luck in the contest.

I know. The fair of spiders is very common; even more than of snakes. About 90% of the people I know suffer from it. :-)

I have strong feeling that I know who is behind this creation. Nobody else on this site know so much about folklore as you. You have created a very convincing Arachne here, and the way you have rendered the delicate web is just beautiful. All the little helpless flies have become a decoration to her silky skirt.
I love the lovely blue and pink pastels you have used here and also the almost divine light you have introduced. Arachne's pose is so elegant and graceful as she is weaving her web, Like she is dancing for the prey to come closer and look at her beauty.
It is such a good flow in this creation, and it is done with very good attention to details. I like how the web sparkles in places, like diamonds were attached to it. This is a well balanced composition and a work of true beauty. I like what I am seeing, and I am impressed. Good luck with the contest.
