Oh, this is the fourth magnolia I have reviewed and I am beginning to think I smell them. I lived in the south where they grew so well. So beautiful. I love this one, nicely composed in nice soft lighting. Very lovely.

Thank you very much. I did not realize that I am following a magnolia trend. I guess those flower trends come in just we long to smell spring by now.

I think yours is definitely the best of the four :)

Very creative work of digital art. Great illumination, fine details and very nice depth. I like the whiteness of the flower in the green leaves, nice composition and presentation. Good job.

Really enjoyed the notes with history and context of the plant. It´s a lovely work with deep contrast from foreground to background. The greens are lush and deep in tone and most attractive and appealing to the eye. My own impression is that perhaps more blues and purples and pinkish reds at the bottom of the flower petal could strengthen the work. The reds and purples in bottom third are exceptionally vivid! Love it!

Thank you very much for your very encouraging review and the high rating. You made my Sunday! Thank you for mention the bottom part. The dark spot beside the seed is supposed to have color. I am in the process to lighten this part up. The upload came out to dark in the parts without added highlights. For some reason the upload system seems not to like my colors if I do not mix white into them. It is probably my program which does not transfers well to JEPG. Thank you again!

initial impact is good. i like the leaves left natural in the background. the magnolia is a beautiful flower. it's a touch off center but that's covers by the plants around it. nice job!

Thank you much for your kind review.
What do you mean saying that the leaves in the background are left natural? I was hoping I painted everything natural. The blossom was painted of center intentionally. [This is a painting, not a photo.]
-
i understand it's a painting. some people blur out the background, i prefer it left natural. that's a good thing. a piece of art can still be off center,my preference would be to get the whole flower as close to center as possible. it just my preference and i gave you a good score.
-
Oh, I understand. Some people think my paintings are mixed media photos with paintfilters. I have to clarify, otherwise I will be disqualified from the contest.
Center or not is very much in the preference of the artist I think. It also account on the subject of the artwork. The beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
I was not asking about the rating. I think the rating is not of much importance in most reviews. Not many reviewers judge by artistical and technical value of a piece. The judge most often if the like or dislike the subject. Just try to post a Spider or a Snake.
The dark spot below beside the brown sead is supost to contain brown and reds as well. It did loaded up to dark. I am in the process to add some light there.
Thank you for mention it!
