This is so lovely, Cleo. Your artist notes have go on with the initial emotions I felt when I viewed your painting. So yes...you have given those emotions life here with your digital art.
And WOW re the digital art. You are amazing! I would love to know more about how you create this without a photo to begin with.
Your sense of scale of the human body and it's features is superb. Shadows and light give the notion of a window on the left...just as you say. She is pensive and beautiful. I enjoy the jewelry you have created with their bit of sparkle. You are very talented my friend. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you very much for your encouraging comments!
I usually start with a raw scratch on paper, so I get the proportions right. Than I use a raster to recreate the scratch on the computer. In this case I had the book illustration to help me, but its an old paperback damaged by water. I think also that photos of the author Isabel Allende influenced the painting, although it dos not look like her and an portrait of her was never intended.

Thank you for your explanation Cleo. It sounds very time consuming!! And talent consuming! :D

Yes, it is time consuming. I don't know how much time I spend on this one. I painted several variations. I work on it of and on since 2013, but there was a big pause when I was ill.
