I love how the only the bud and it's reflection are in color- brings the eye to them. Great shot and adjustments.

Nicely done! Love the selective focus achieved by color on the bloom, b&w on the rest. Very nice composition too, love the still dark water. Thanks for sharing.

This is such a pleasing picture. I love the way you have used the colour selectively. The black and white portions seem to have limited tonal range, and perhaps that adds to the overall impact of this shot.

Love how the flower pops out of the water and the subtle contrast between the leaves and the water. Could you elaborate for the rest of us on how you did this, and where the photgography ends and the enhancement begins? Thanks Cyn

Thank you so very much! This was done in layers. The background layer is in color the other layer is black and white. Then you erase the part you want in color.

Really great detail. The contrast between the light bud and dark pads and water really draws the eye to the flower bud. Still water always makes for great reflections. Nice!

This is a great idea of converting the leaves to black and white while the bud stays in color. Honestly, this is a great entry for the contest because so far this is totally different. Beautiful reflection and the idea of a darkened black and white.Well done and good luck for the contest.

A beautiful picture. I love the gray pads and the yellow flower. Very dramatic. The reflection is wonderful. Great job.

If this is for the green contest i would much rather see the lilly pads green and the flower black and white. That is only my subjective opinion though. Right or wrong as it may be. I applaud you for the tremendous effort and beautiful effect!

Whatever the trick is - it works! Very cool and I like this very much! The color in the midst of the black and gray is quite striking!
