It works for sure , as a healer, psychologist and transformational coach I can feel these people when they come back, soul broken, emptied out because of the killings they have to do without wanting it, what they see is inhuman and your illustration is just showing such an empty face - they have the army cepy on their head but their brain is just functional - they often transform into an inner zombie (your eyes) as the trauma the went through is hard to understand and it demands a lot of self commitment to heal it - he comes close to look like an ET - handsome presentation, could not be better for your purpose , well done

This is a powerful work and the initial impact is quite strong. The expression chills me. I think the work is abstracted PTSD very well. Thank you for sharing.

Really works well with the theme. The empty eyes and the rictus of lips pressed denoting an inside status of depression and other disorders psychics. Very touching. Well done.

You've captured the feeling of the dreadful trauma that this veteran has been through, with his blank eyes and resigned expression on his face.
The lettering and emblem on the cap are amazing. I'm sure your writing friend was thrilled with this. Excellent drawing. Suzanne

The symbol of the eyes filled out with black is genial. I to hope it works. Its a theme which is not much realized but is getting worse. I know some of those soldiers and have seen more than I want. [I dealt with the theme myself in some of my paintings/stories]. The timing is perfect. It comes just right for Veterans Day. It should get a lot of attention.

I think you hit the nail on the head with this rendering. I spent 5 yrs in the army but didn't have to go into battle, but some of my friends did and some came back looking pretty much like this. Thanks Charlie
