As always beautiful photo. Nice lighting with the sun shining atopo and one can see the trees through the archway so the clarity is excellent. I happen to be fond of stone and this exhibits wonderful contrast and perspective.

i love this photo for 2 reasons.
one because it is a great photo.. and two, because it is a great example of what lighting can do to our colors and detail.
look at the difference between the portion of the gate where lighting is controlled, as opposed to the area of harsh sunlight.
if there is one thing i have learned the last few months by trial and error, it is that sunlight will kill your image.
you can see where it has almost completely washed out the amazing color tones in the rock of the gate as well as all the nice detail in stone. you can also see where this has happened to the upper portion of the trees beyond the gate.
now... about the great parts of the photo.
the sharp focus and great lighting on the lower section of the gate is amazing. i absolutely love all of that texture and detail in the old stone.
the color range in the rock is excellent.
this gate just beckons to be entered.
thank you for sharing. i wish i had a copy of this to show everyone i talk to about the hazards of sun light :)

This is beautiful, love the brilliant bold colors and sharp outline of the rocks. Like you're looking through to another world - very fitting title

love the concept and it's a great entrance
maybe you should have metered on the entrance as a spot rather than matrix or average.
the shadow causes a little problem
thanks for sharing

What a beautiful gateway. I love old things and the ability to capture them for others. And you have done that for us. I like what is framed in the gateway. It seems a little grainy, but maybe that is the distance. Very nice photo.

very nice composition,
reminds me of the
Secret Garden
Great framing
good light and colours
not sure what the white in the garden is, looks like someone pitched a tent, but I know its not, do you know?
