Macro shot of Sea Glass

Very interesting background info. This piece is more closely aligned with the macro genre since it is up close and personal. Journalism suggests action such as someone squatting to examine a piece of glass found on a beach, or combing through sand look for finds. This is a different sort of examination, no less worthy and quite interesting. Macro could be slightly sharper but it is still quite good, as the voters will testify. Good luck.

Thankyou very much. I know it isn't journalism, but I had to post it somewhere. Macro isn't a provided option. Non of the groups seems to feed. Were else could I have posted? I tought I go for journalism because the background info.

Isn't there an "other" or a "none of these" as a choice? I believe there is. I will have to check again to be precise. No, a strong photo journalistic photo can tell a story without the words; words only enhance and fill in the gaps. This could not stand alone without your words to create the interest. We (I) would not know what it is without your comprehensive information.

Sometimes photos such as these are used in conjunction with photojournalistic pictures, posting on the same page as the action shot. When 2 or more are used, it is called a "photo essay." The cutlines (called captions by the public) link the photos together to enhance storytelling.

Thanks for the information; I know journalism isn't the right group. I did understand this in your review right away; but in what group should I have posted it? There is no one right for it. There is no macro grouping on FAR. I cannot call it NATURE, EXPRESSSIVE, SEASONAL etc. That would be more wrong then journalism, wouldn't it?

Sorry I answered the other one first without reading this. If I remember right there is no non of these choice, but maybe I am mistaken. Usually I use EXPERIMENTAL or EXPRESSIVE, when I do not know were to put it; But what is experimental or expressive on a macro?

Fascinating write up and a very interesting looking picture. I like the way all the bumps and bubbles show up in this glass. I would like to find some of this. An excellent picture. Good luck in the contest.

Thank you very much. It will be hard to find a similar piece. For all I know a piece like this is found once in about 5000-10 000 pieces of sea glass account to the age of the glass I do not know.

Good luck with the competition, I love sea glass and have never seen it this close up, so thanks for giving a different viewpoint of something very tactile and usually smooth.

Thank you very much. this piece is not smooth as sea glass is usually because it apparently was in a fire what caused an uneven surface and air bubbles inside the glass.

OoO this is really weird but wonderful! I'd never have thought about macroing a piece of glass like this. It has a really good effect. Reminds me of when I was younger and how I used to always pick up the lovely pretty pieces of glass along the beach, although you're right - I hardly ever see them now, whereas they used to be everywhere when I was little!
