OMG, you make it sound so simple. I just love this! I hope you won the contest.
Your lighting is amazing in this. And I love the reflection of the leaf on the bottom of shot. Is that the fractualius effect ?And the frame is custom . Thank you so much for sharing this.

The fract was well used, it has just a touch of light, I like that. the red is lovely and the flood adds nice depth. Donkeyoatey

I cannot suggest even one thing to improve this posting! The initial impact is stunning with the exquisitely intense color highlighted by the black background. Love the balance (including that the leaf is "balanced" on edge). This work radiates an explosive energy. Interesting effect on the stem end and also the element behind the leaf. I am left wondering what it is. Awesome, awesome!!

The luminance of the leaf almost appears to make the leaf look like glass. Very striking in appearance. If you are going for the "red" contest this might be a good choice to enter. Position in frame is excellent

Cleverly done. The frac filter and flood filter are both popular on this site from what I have viewed. I should look into them, they look good I think. Good composition here, very creative, well done. Good luck in the contest.

It is indeed. I am not sure what has happened here. My intention was of course to thank you for the nice review.

striking colors...the red next to black
LIke the reflection in the water
and how leaf sits perched on it's side
like seeing the glow from behind
good composition
like the light
and the effects you got with the processing create a neat effect
framing doesn't hurt, but doesn't seem to make a lot of difference here
