When I first looked at this, he scared me. I thought I'm not going near him. lol Really a good portrait, the eyes are a little crazy. I like the light coming from him, there's hope! Interesting in sepia. Good drawing skills. Your son must be happy!

This is so cool! I am sure your son was really delighted. He won't appreciate how fortunate he is to have a very talented Mom for an artist until he is grows up and your are doing the same for your grandchildren, lol, such is the way it it.

Aww thank you so much, I have just had his friend over and he insisted on showing him this.... He wants one now lol. It is lovely when you can make their little faces light up, that's all I want. Thank you so much for the lovely review

This is an unusual subject for you, and perhaps compelled by your son's interest in the subject!? Well, imagining that a supreme compliment from a 9-year old! Eyes extremely powerful and draws the viewer in. THe nails are very suggestive of the animal claws and I like the use of tonal range to give a dramatic and bold presentation. Very graphic and very well done piece! Would love to see more of your drawing work posted! Jean

Thank you so much Jean. Yes I don't usually do things like this but every now and again am curious to see what would happen if I tried something different. I did enjoy this but am going to work on another book concept now so chances are I won't do anything like this for a little while. I really appreciate your comments
