LOL...so 'Kangaroo' Island has 'Sea Lions' Mary Liz!! Kangaroos too?? OK....couldn't help myself. Oh and excellent notes btw- before I forget.

Nice focus on this little guy. What a good job showing both the things you mentioned in your notes that make him so unique...his ear flaps and mobile back flippers! Very nicely done.

..and so is your photo. Besides focus, exposure is good and he's placed in the frame close enough to give us a really good look. Wonderful job all around!!

We also stayed at American River - no river in sight and named for the Whalers that spent a few months there back in the 1800's - lots of wallabies which are smaller version of kangaroo, New Zealand Fur Seal breeding colony, echidna's, snakes, lizards and birds awesome place for natural wildlife

Thanks Sange, wonderful place for wildlife although was struggling to hold camera with the 45-65 kmph (28-40 mph) winds on both days we were out. Really appreciate your support. :) Mary

A very nice shot. I like the clean sandy setting and the great details in the little sea lion. Your shot shows both his mobility on land and the ears that make it distinct from other sea lions.

Cute,,great photo,,natural beach sand, lovely colours, expected these guys to be darker in colour,,that is why probably Australia has great white sharks because of these seals,,,love the face in the middle looking at you,

Thanks so much liseworks I appreciate your support - they vary in darkness and look very dark when they come out of the water. The New Zealand fur Seals which also have a breeding colony on the island are a lot darker in color. :) Mary
