the water and reeds make this one and a bit of moody sky, but mainly the water. It has been carefully studied and worked out on the picture. The positioning is perfect, with the water running to the centre and the one tree adding interest and also giving another one of, as the dying sun. Beautiful colours.

love the colours of purple even in the grass, the lonely tree on the left,,the birds in the sky,,great sun trying to come out of the clouds and just reflecting on the water making it so lovely, really pretty to look at

This is absolutely beautiful! Was this done with pastels? It would be great to read your notes on the process involved. Your long strokes representing the marsh grasses blowing in the wind are excellent and the path of light over the marsh waters is enchanting and does a great job of leading the viewer into the composition and giving depth to the landscape. Beautiful, soothing color and your technique work so very well together.

Yes it was done with pastels. I used a photo reference but I always change the pieces so they are never exactly like a photograph. Thank you for your stellar review and analysis.
