Excellent capture here Susan, with brilliant sharp clarity showing us the up close detail of this Robin to maximum effect as it perches on what is becoming your legendary bird table (or one of them!), looking quite content and with great DOF that shows the brown branch immediately behind the little bird then fading to a blur of foliage, with a vignette effect frame, helping to accentuate the Robin further too. Neatly cloned/cropped to create a beautifully composed piece - great work, well done! :)

    Ed,
Thanks a million for your complementary review on this cheeky Robin that follows me around the garden,
when I go outside but usually does not stop anywhere long enough to take pictures.

Cute capture. The angle of the shot of this cute and colorful bird is great. The clarity is great. The capture of the light is great. The image is balance and eye appealing to the viewer. Good eye and great job overall

When I saw this my first impression was "How can it fly?!".

Camera technique has captured every little detail of this chubby little fellow so well. The eye and the micro feathers of the face are clear and sharply focus. Good catch light in the eye.

Color and contrast compliment the bird and its surroundings.

The placement of the bird slightly off to the left makes a good center of interest.

A superb capture of this colorful little bird ... B-)) Bob

It's not really fat just puffed up against the icy breeze.

you know I love robins too,
this one is adorable, a pin sharp capture of this round robin on your patio chair,
beautiful catch light in the eye, natural colours on the bird, I like the adjustment to the edges of the frame which iron out any distractions and draw the eye in to the centre of interest. a beautiful nature scene.
love it.

THanks a million for your complementary review on this Posing Robin.
This was the best of SIXTEEN shots I managed to grab while it posed, moved & posed again in the Fuchsia bush.

Your exposure and colors are very nice in this shot Susan. I like how every detail of the bird shows clearly including his tiny claws. These are cute little birds.

    Nik,
Thanks a million for your complementary review on this cheeky Robin. It stayed in the Fuchsia for a few minutes long enough to get sixteen shots not all Great but I get great satisfaction when I manage to get even a few good pictures.

Beautiful little bird. Our Robins are much larger. How interesting, this looks like a finch yet with robin markings. I love how you frame your work. Definitely a great one for the birds in bloom magazine. Not sure if you are familiar with it. Lighting is beautiful with great clarity! I sure enjoy your bird pieces! Thanks for sharing, Amy

Thanks a million for your complementary review on this cheeky little Robin.
Yes our Robins are just about the same size as an House Sparrow..They are solitary territorial Flycatchers who are usually seen alone except in the breeding season. But for the last two years there have been two in my garden most days often arriving at the same time. Your Robins are Thrushes & are "Cousins" of Our Song & Mistle Thrushes & Blackbirds...Their movements running along the ground & feeding habits are virtually the same..I remember watching them in the Campus of Berkley University when I visited there on three occasions.

Interesting! I sure have enjoyed your bird postings. My favorite bird here is the Eastern Bluebird. And in the Spring I watch for the blue buntings. They are really small and an indigo blue. They pass through going North.

I just love your Hummingbirds they have the same attitude as our Robins & to top that they are both tiny & jewel like with their iridescent plumage.

I do love the hummingbirds. I have 8 feeders I put out and have about 30 each year. Hoping to get some close ups this year. They are quit use to my presence now.
