Oh I LOVE the new photo up there top right Ed.....a pleasure to meet your Pat and don't you guys look wonderful all dolled up in your Hawaiian best!!

OK- your piece here. Man it has taken all week for me to feel like doing reviews so I am happy to finally have made it to your page. Great title you've given your piece and excellent job in the methods section. You careful work w/ detail has really paid off w/ this piece. It is quite eye catching.

I like the tight crop keeping all the attention on that wonderful train....and the COLOR! That red (my favorite) is perfectly shown. The amount of detail in this piece is amazing but what I really like is how crisply you've shown all of it. Nicely done. So excellent job w/ focus. Spot on w/ exposure as well. I may have liked just the slightest tinge more room top frame- above the smokestack but realize it was probably a push-pull between that and the wheels.

Just a really interesting image Ed and so well presented...gets a gold star from me- easily!!!

Deborah

Hi Deb. So glad you like the new profile pick. We sure had fun picking out our outfits for the wedding. Thrilled with your review of this post and the glowing 6 stars. Thanks ever so much. It was a bit tricky to work on with the odd angle and some distractions on the left. That?s why the smoke stack is a bit tight in the frame. I was so relieved when the rotation did not cut it off. Whew! Glad you are feeling better. Ed.

Oh dear Ed I did not realize it was your wedding photo. Oh my biggest congratulations to you and you Pat (please pass that along to him) And I'm glad there were distractions on the left w/ this piece b/c it made you shoo this at such an interesting angle.....and whew on the smokestack! I am always so envious when I see how some photographers can actually add a bit to their frame edge where it''s tight. One of these days I am going to own a good editing program and learn how o do that myself. Would be one of THE most useful things to be able to do w/ a few of my pieces too. Anyway, you are so very welcome for review/rating. Nice work here!

Oh, not our wedding. Destination wedding for our friends. We wed in March 2015 not long after the Supreme Court decision. I will email you a nice pic from ours. Next month we will be together for 36 years!

I thought you would have said something to me if you were getting married. Now...36 years THAT is cause for celebration for sure Ed. Heartfelt Congrats!

It is the angle to the shot that captures me perfectly - creative and fabulously played. Great camera techs as well the focus is outstanding and the colors ever so natural with great lighting, kudos on the exposure! You have me thinking about ... angles... Great play!!! Thanks for sharing!

Maybe the most powerful train photo I have ever seen on FanArt Review! The depth of field, strong colors, contrasting textures, and "in your face" personality of the engine earn you 6 stars from me.

Well done Ed!!

I too love the wonderful wizardry world of Harry Potter but not yet visited the set.

Perfect colors and I like the tight crop that keeps us looking all over the place.

Well done.

This must have been a great place to visit, and the Hogwarts Express really looks great. I especially like the perspective because of the fine leading lines it has created, and the express is also standing out well from the background.

Your photo is pin sharp showing such clear and well defined details in every part of the train, and the exposure is perfect.

I think the framing is a bit tight on the left side, but perhaps you could not get further back when the photo was taken. I think it is a great looking and well taken photo, and with a very good DOF.
