In a way, I wish he would have moved his little ol self a little more to the right or even to the left instead of being the center of exactly where the sun is the brightest in your entire photograph, but as you say...when life hands you lemons.....
The coloring is phenomenal...I love all the lavender hues mixed in with the blues and the variety of colors the sun shows with its yellows and oranges as it slowly sets itself down for the night AND how one (well, at least I can) actually hear those beautiful waves come crashing in....the force behind the whites gushes (not sure if that is the correct English word) as they finally come to their resting place amongst the sand waiting for the ones to stir up the commotion as they come in right behind them.
It is a lovely photo and HE does have some personality,I might add...after all, he does have that one leg slightly bent at the knee....
I am sure this will do well in the contest. It has mine beat 100 times over.
I sat here gazing at it for quite awhile before I started typing. It is one of those shots one does not want to forget. It brings peace to the beholder, which is at the moment exactly what this here beholder is craving and needing the most. I thank you for sharing and for lifting up my ever aching heart. There is so much beauty in this world and I am reminded of that once again, by you, which is exactly what I needed to see.
You are my first review after 3 months. Thank you for letting me review you first...I realize you had nothing to do with it, but you DID. I feel this photo was placed in front of me right now because I needed to see it and be reassured that peace and happiness for me is just around the corner. Wishing you all the best at the voting booth.

My Dear Katharina. I feel very fortunate to be your first review. I know how much you have been through. I also know that it is no accident that this image found its way to you. That is why it was created. It is a message to you letting you know that All Will Be Well. This image created itself in after photo work. I was simply along for the ride. Even I am mesmerized by it. So that shows that there are larger realms at work here. So relax, enjoy the scene and the many scenes in front of you every day. And remember the message Katharina: All will be well. All will be well. All manner of things Will Be Well.

Wish I could pop in for just a moment....even 30 seconds....I would even take....to where ever you are at this point in time 2330 my time....just to give you a personal instead of a virtual hug....and then I would pop right back out leaving you to think...what just happened?
Thank you. Your words so true in every sense.

Well he isn't doing a lot for me in the picture. I think you captured the churning water beautifully in the foreground. Great sense of movement and the color is wonderful. The jetty silhouette works well, would be better without him. and the sunset/sky is very good. Even the boat in the sea works. It is not a bad picture with him, just would be so much better without him. Well seen and well shot.

Wowzers! The forefront waters are giving me a very warm feeling, even though the colors are cool. I think I can recognize your work and this is really outstanding. The silhouetted man is gorgeous in this capture, the sky is so beautifully colored and I just love the water rushing in to the shore. Stunning photograph
With an incredible peacefulness due largely to the color scheme. Such a pleasure to view and review this magnificent perspective and serenity. LOVE it!

I'm glad you included this fellow in your sunset shot!I think it shows how we all like to linger and enjoy peaceful and beautiful scenes like this. I think it makes the shot even more magical because the viewer outside the shot gets to imagine himself/herself as the viewer within. Very Pretty and definitely a Joy to view! Good Luck in the Contest! :o) Helvi

A beautifully composed shot. The sun is well located off to one side and the silhouetted man is fantastic. The colors are beautiful and the breaking waves are outstanding. Best of luck in the contest.

Indeed, for me at least this lemon turned into 6 stars!

You positioning of the man was perfect. Silhouetted against the setting sun, amazing.

The clarity of the surf is truly spectacular, I can almost hear the breaking waves.

This is a strong entry for the contest, it has my vote.

Beautiful Image! Elements of Color, Balance, and Framing are strong! The silhouette of the man is so perfectly placed against the sun, but doesn't detract against the blue tide coming in, or the beautiful colors in the sky. Perfection!

Very nice glass of lemonade. And you don't even need a signed model release form. Can't really blame him of course. It is a beautiful and tranquil scene. Hum, I am wondering if you were kneeling or sitting to get this angle. Beautiful photograph. Reasons for my five star vote.

Thanks a lot Carl for your review and great comments. Funny you should mention if I was kneeling or sitting to get this shot. Actually I was squatting half way out of the water. I can't remember if it was this wave or another one that came in strong and my six o'clock got soaked. When walking back people were wondering why the back of my shorts was soaking wet and yet the front was dry. Definitely worth a little water and a few strange looks to get the shot. Thanks again Carl.

Well, I believe you made a very good decision to change your shooting plans! Your beautiful image benefits from a very good classical composition, it's sharp and well exposed. Well done and good luck!
