What a dramatic shot, capturing the amazing abilities of birds, as they maneuver for food. The lily pads add so much to the sense of where this bird is. Great shot.

A cute & candid still motion capture!!
Sharply focused fan tail & spread flight feathers!

Nice shadow.
Bright lighting.
Ideal off centered framing!

Yellow bloom accentuated this scene aesthetically.

Nice perspective & narrow DOF.

Thanks for sharing...

Well photographed, nice stop of the action, clear and well focused, nice exposure , the colors and tones are natural, well timed to capture her as she with one foot on the stem of the water lily . Good detail in her feathers, face and beak , good eye contact complete with catch light! Well presented!

Wow!!! This is a fabulous shot of a Red Winged Blackbird! This is perfect! I love how you cropped it, it is so classic! I like the contrast of the bright yellow and dark brown. All the attention is on the subject. Your notes are telling me that you were observing the mom. And her fledglings for awhile. Great job!!! Sharp focus on the subject. You can see the details perfectly! I also like the shadow, which makes the image special.

I like the way the yellow bud complements the mottled color of the female bird. She actually looks brown in this image and I would not have guessed that she is a redwing...you have a good eye. I like the action of this shot and her reflection on the lily pad below.

Talk about good timing. Not only is the stop action perfect, but you also managed to include the water lily, and a nice shadow framing the flying bird in the lily pad. The bird is standing out from the background in an excellent way, and the light is falling so nicely on it.

Your focus on the bird is spot on and sharp showing really clear and well defined details in every part of the bird, and the exposure is perfect. You even captured the high light in the bird's eye.

The photo is nicely cropped and with the placement of the bird off to the right, it has been given room to fly into. Indeed a lovely and well taken photo, and with a very good DOF.

Grace,
A beautiful picture of the female Redwing Blackbird searching for food to bring her fledglings hidden among the reeds the sun shining down on her lighting up her beautiful plumage & giving her the bird shaped shadow beneath her on the Lily pads. Beautiful sunlit composition framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

Excellently timed shot Grace and so crisp and clear is this capture. You are getting the most amazingly difficult shots and presenting them with such clarity and ease.
Outstanding work! Pleasure to see this one foot hold!
