Very well done digital artwork. I love the expression and pose of the dancer. The black and white fits well with the image. It's an all around beautiful image to view.

Thank you!!! :o) I would never have checked her. I assumed that a museum presenting an old photo has checked all available resources of identification before presenting it in an exhibition, especially international dancers known at this time! I guess I was wrong. :o)

I only know of her because I work at a theater in the USA that she performed in. My knowledge of her came from unusual means. Glad I could identify her for you. Now you can let the museum know who she is. =-]

    Thank you again!
The exhibition is long gone. It was only on for 6 months, back in 2012, but I will inform the museum.

SMILES. So glad you are going to inform them. Someone as talented as she was should not be listed as an unknown. That museum should know how to find out where the exhibition is now so they can correct the info.

We can tell she is a vintage ballerina from the soft wavy hairstyles and vintage tutu. I love the strokes that create her skin and the shapeliness of her legs. The soft yellow, grays, and whites in the background create a nice light.

Really an outstanding work of art. This has such a vintage look to it that it reminds me so much of an old photograph. The detail is outstanding and the work with light and shadow is perfection. Beautiful work and such a pleasure to view.

Comment from Daphne Oberon

Lovely! She is ballerina, but something about the style of her blouse and waist wrap, as well as her expression, make me think of the song about the Spanish dancer, called La Spanola. "love and longing inspire her glance, yield to her witching might...." Thanks for sharing, Daphne Oberon

Talent from a traveling show of an era gone by...

Poignant image.
Retro fashion.
Crisp & clear facial details.
Flowing smooth strokes.

Fantabulous b&w rendition.

I really enjoy this piece, the subject matter is both beautiful and interesting. For me the yellow tinge is a little distracting, I think if the tinge was more involved with the rule of thirds it would make this piece stronger. Very nice work.

Thank you very much for your encouraging comments and your critical input. I did not use any yellow color for the painting nor do I see any yellow tint at the upload. I just checked the piece in my portfolio. The painting of the ballerina has only black, white and shades of gray, The background has shades of gray and blue. :O)
