This is beautiful Pat. I love the darkness, the shadows. The clouds. The gloomy feel is awesome. What were your settings on your camera when you snapped this?
Nicely done.

I suspect it was not only rainy but also cold. The black and white was a good choice for this shot to add to the gray feeling and weather environment. Nice use of the leading line to keep us in the shot. Very dramatic, good focus nice balance. Well seen.

Wow! You have an option to shoot in black and white. I usually convert a photo later. But you knew from the beginning what you're doing to create! That's great!!! It looks classic. Yes, it shows the mood of a rainy day. The light and shadows are excellent! The composition is perfect! Bravo Pat!!!

Really nice choice, Pat. The B&W treatment of this gloomy day was perfect.
I like the composition as well - nice diagonal angles, and also the road wending out of sight.

This is a very well shot of a landscape in an early rainy morning. The depiction of the dark and light with multitude of shades against smooth sky makes dramatic viewing. Thanks for sharing!

I have often told many here to shoot in monochromatic in camera rather than change it later. The reason is to get exposure and white balance correct.
I like that you shot this in black and white which on rainy days is perfect. It sets the mood, draws us in and keeps us there. Nice contrast and light highlights.
Great view Pat ;)

Lovely black and white Alaskapat, with good tonal range captured. Like the "S" curve of the winding road leading our eyes down and into the trees. The mountains give a lovely layered effect as you look over the water towards them. - good luck

So used to seeing your images in color Pat,but must say this b/w works in a different vain, and looks a tad grainy in this, but sort of adds to the effect, nice visual image...Brian

Exotic presentation in monochromatic overtone...

Impressive b&w rendition (gray scale). Excellent tonal range. Nice features & textures.
Diminishing perspective of a winding road lends a good leading line...
Vanishing viewpoint.
ood lighting & framing.

Thanks for sharing...
