You did a fine job, especially for your first time of stippling. The plantlife are lovely as are the animals, the lion very realistic, fainter in the background. The Mama and child zebra are adorable, but it would be even more lovely drawing if their proportions and the whole of the zebra were larger.

    Glena,

thank you for your time in looking and the writing the review.
this drawing is in the book, with an explanation on what my intent was in creating it.

yes, shamelessly promoting the book, hope you will take a look at it and consider purchasing a copy.
    have great day,
    Cheers

Nice pointillism piece. Great details and flow. I would have liked to see a little more of the ostrich and lion extended into the
circle but nice job overall.

    Lisa,
actually this is a stipple drawing similar to pointillism, both are created by applying dot onto a substrate. stipple is a single color and pointillism is all colors, only using pure colors.

tahnk you for your comments they are appreciated.

i hope u you will go and look at the book and hopefully buy a copy

yes, I am a shameless self promoter.

Hi Lucien, Your first attempt at this type of art is incredible. You have amazing detail in your stipple art work. Everything tin this image was well done. It's hard to believe you can accomplish such beautiful artistry with just dots! Love the presentation! Wish I had six stars to bless this with because you truly deserve it! Very Nicely Done! :o) Nancy

Hi Lucien, I haven't seen any of your work before, thou I see you've been a member for a long time.
There are some very beautiful drawings within this, I particularly like the zebra.
But, being an old post, I'm a bit concerned that it's been entered into the nature competition - or is it just still carrying the tag from an old contest?

    Have good day ,

My apologies, I do wish they?d remove the previously entered contest heading when an image is reposted - it could confuse a stupid person! Lol

Great use of the page... The shading is very good and the depth of light and dark is well defined.. Would like to see Moore dark shading in the lion to balance with the emu.. Well done

i am sad to read you do not like this stipple drawing's composition.
a little info: Stipple is usually a single color, while pointillism is using colors to create the drawing. Both use only dots applied by hand to create the artwork.

    Have a great day.

A beautiful technique and a fine image that hints at the interconnectivity of it all. I like the eyes of the mandrill (or whatever that simian is). Best of luck in the contest.
