How funny. His positioning of his body makes you really feel like he is sinking into the sand. Even the way his head is turned makes him look fearful. The sun was your friend. The photo has great lighting, it's in focus, and it tells a story. Thank you for sharing.

The herons seem to be a popular bird. The fish stealing, private pond thieves. Lol. This one seems to be enjoying the feel of the surf as it ebbs and flows around his ankles. He seems to be watching his feet as they get further buried in sand with each tide. Ha...that's what I do. It doesn't appear that he has caught any dinner with that big beak yet.

This is a wonderful and sharp capture of this bird with the expression truly looking like he is wondering. Every feather is clear and it is a good composition.

Lovely shot. The colors and light (and shadows) are fantastic. For me personally, I really like how his / her sharp long beak is in line with the legs, creating a double image of symmetry, in contrasting with the horizontal lines of the waves' end. Grey and blue Beauty.

Haha! Yes, he does look as if he's thinking just that as he views his disappearing feet. I love the pose you caught here. Excellent lighting and focus showing a nice sharp image. Great composition. Suzanne

This is a wonderful image of this heron,he does seem to be a bit concerned about his feet,or perhaps he"s enjoying the feel of sand between his toes.Beautiful focus with complimenting soft lighting, good capture of the detailing in the feathers and eye clarity. The colors of the water and sand make for a lovely backdrop. Many thanks for sharing another wonderful image!

Yes, I do believe that he is expressing some concern about his location. Your fine and off-centre composition does capture a good air of uncertainty. The feathervdetail is very enjoyable. Well done!

Hi Fred, what a beautiful image this is! The grey heron is well placed in the frame with plenty of room for him to move into, I like his pose allowing a good view of his beautiful shimmering grey feathers as well as his face and bill, he is well focused, the image is clear, exposure is perfect, his colors and tones are natural, nice detail in his face and bill, good eye contact. I like your title, I can see his feet are sinking into the wet sand. This is well composed allowing a good sense of this location. Well presented!
