I love this flower! It is also known as a Trollius! These flowers are awesome , they start out all wrapped up like a present and then they slowly unfold as shown in this flower. I like that you included the two that are just starting to open.
The main flower here is beautiful! It immediately draws the eye! It is perfectly placed within the scene and it's angle of placement allows such a good look at its shape and structure.
This is well focused, the image is clear, exposure is correct, nice tones in this Black and white.

Wow, I see many photos, drawings and such on this sight. But I never have seen anything like this. It is unbelievable. The black and white pops from the screen. Very nice details. I really don't want to see the color picture this is from. This says it all.

These flowers are usually yellow, aren't they ? But this one looks just as great in black and white. I like that buds are included as well, and everything is standing out from the background in an excellent way.
The photo is very sharp and it is such clear and well defined details to be seen in every part of the flower. The exposure is very good.
The format and framing is working well, and the flower has got a fine placement off to the right. I also like the matte vignette you have added, because it is giving the photo such a delicate look. A truly lovely and well taken photo with a very good DOF, and I wish you luck with the contest.

Such an eye catching image. Your use of the Silver Efex gives this a special look and feel.
The focus is just right with sharper details in the petals of the main flower while giving the overall scene a dreamlike quality.
