Insect Photograpy Contest Entry
While out walking my dog one afternoon I came across this Little Leaf Notcher Weevil on a neighbors hedge. I had never seen one before and was enchanted by its simple, yet elegant, body pattern of black and white. I thought it was some kind of beetle and looked it up on the internet where I found the truth. And the truth wasn't all good either! It seems that these weevils are insidious and will completely destroy fruit orchards from the roots on up. So much for my elegant little bug. Picture perfect but not fruit friendly!
